November 2007 Election Victory

November 7, 2007

Dear Friends and Supporters:

Last night we won a major victory with 71% of the vote in my re-election campaign for Ward 6 Alderman. See local coverage here and election results at www.somervillema.gov.

I couldn't have done it without all of you. Your continuing commitment to our shared concerns, my campaign, and our community is truly inspiring to me. We have much work to do in these next two years. In my next term I pledge to continue to work to make local government open, accesible and transparent and I will continue to work to bring people together so our community can grow and be stronger than ever.

Please continue to pay close attention to local government and get involved any way you can. The local level is sometimes overlooked as we focus on our state, federal and international challenges. But as we all know, change starts at home. It starts in back yards, and on our boards of aldermen and school committees. The local level needs energy and ideas to best serve the people of our community. I will continue to work to bring this to the Board of Aldermen. I know you'll be right there with me!

Thank you again for making this victory possible.

Best wishes,
Rebekah
